600 Block "The Vibe" Playlist Update!

We just updated “The Vibe on 600 Block” Spotify playlist with our cuts to end the week and start the weekend right — Fredfades, Jake Milliner, WAYNE SNOW, and Zo! This playlist focused on musically dynamic and chill music that mash together hip hop, neo-soul, downtempo, and jazz. Simply put, we think it is the perfect playlist to vibe out with. Expect releases from 600 Block Records that fit this Vibe.

This is a summary of the new songs we just added:

Outro (ft. Sraw)
by Fredfades

“Outro” by Fredfades ends a 13-song hip-hop beats compilation by Norwegian label Mutual Intentions. It is not only aptly named to conclude this record, but it’s also a good intro to the world Fredfades and Sraw created together, who used the postal service to exchange beats for their project Double Density. It's an intro with an outro going analog to digital, and this fit’s The Vibe’s snailmail pace we’re going to take into the weekend.

Last Place, ft. Eun
by Jake Milliner

South London’s Jake Milliner stays true to The Vibe by blending together mellow jazz sounds, a dusty groove, and a hip-hop execution to tie it all together. Though minimal, the track at only a minute and a half accomplishes to captivate with its hypnotic loops and emphasis on beats. Definitely a song to get lost in the flow of thought.

WAYNE SNOW

Nothing Wrong

WAYNE SNOW brings the energy up just a notch here with an emphasis on electronic funk. It’s hard not to point out that despite his last name the Berlin-based WAYNE SNOW, the Nigerian-born singer sounds warm and comforting. The reassuring lyrics “nothing wrong” feels reminiscent of Marvin Gaye or the late Bill Withers  — but even with the electronic instrumentation, with a synth bass and a deep house style, it’s clear that SNOW has a reverence for the classics.

Zo! ft. DJ Dez and Tall Black Guy

Northland

We got another short and sweet track for you, and this time we’re bringing things Stateside. Taking this one from another collaborative compilation, hip-hop producers Zo! and Tall Black Guy recently released an entire record together, called Abstractions. DJ Dez enters this mix on “Northland,” an interlude on the record that sets the tone right again with plenty of DJ record scratches. Stay tuned for more from our friend Tall Black Guy — including an exciting new track he's featured on that we can't share with you until this summer.
