Cole Degenova
The Chicago Tribune said it best: pianist/vocalist/songwriter Cole DeGenova is “a Chicago music stalwart who is everywhere, even if you don't know him.” That’s because ever since high school, Cole has been working as a jazz pianist around his native Chicago, building the platform for him to later tour the country and world several times over. As a Berklee College of Music graduate, the proficient artist has become an in-demand recording musician as well.
Be it on stage or in the studio, Cole has recorded or performed with the likes of Chance the Rapper, Gallant, Brett Dennen, Lupe Fiasco, Meshell Ndegeocello, Paula Cole, Dave King, Naughty Professor, experimental jazz trio Hanging Hearts, and much more. He’s accomplished and gathered accolades for his own music, too, an eclectic mix of electro-soul, funk, and jazz : His song "Hollywood Girl" was a finalist in the 2015 American Songwriting Awards, he’s the recipient of the 2019 City of Chicago DCASE Artist Grant, and his 2020 album Really Human (Ropeadope Records) is his latest statement, co-produced by legendary neo-soul artist Georgia Anne Muldrow.
